Daily Prayer

I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me – just as the Father knows me and I know the Father – and I lay down my life for the sheep. John 10:14–15, NIV

Dear Lord,

I thank you that your voice reaches my heart and that I can say with joy, "I belong to you. I am yours." I want to lead a life that shows I belong to you, never allowing myself to be sidetracked, never again giving way to pettiness, always drawing strength from the power of Jesus Christ. Protect my household. Watch over me. Protect me on my way. O mighty God, be with me in the many dangers that surround me, and grant that I may always be joyful because my name is recorded in heaven.
