THANK YOU ALL - This Site is Closing July 31, 2023

Yesterday we said goodbye to one of the great crooners of my generation. Tony Bennett left us at the age of 96. As I reflect on his music, I can't think of a song of his that wasn't up beat and positive - I guess that's why he always had a smile on his face!!! That has been the message and intent of my business and this web site - to shower the world with positives and always help put a smile on your faces.

On July 31st, we will say goodbye to https://GodandOurCountry, as I stated in my last post titled: https://www.godandourcountry.com/post/my-final-message-to-be-or-not-to-be-pardon-me-mr-shakespeare.

Unfortunately, after just short of 4 years, I have failed to accomplish this goal. It's not that I haven't shared numerous positive messages and daily Bible verses and positive reflections, it's just that these efforts have not been as impactful to my web site members and friends as I had hoped.

So, as My Way, that great song written by Paul Anka, Gilles Thibaut, Claude Francois, Jacques Revaux, and most successfully recorded by Frank Sinatra goes, we have faced our final curtain.

I want to thank so many people for their love, their support, and their unwavering friendship as we launched this business. John McCartney, Jim Teller, Brianna Houghland, and Will Gleason who provided critical development advice and critiques of my original web site designs. Wix for hosting my web site and being a great support vehicle. All the members who signed up for the web site and the very few who still receive and read my posts and daily positive reflections. And the many friends I have on social media whom have followed our posts and made such wonderfully supportive comments.

Most of all I need to thank my wife who has stood by me throughout providing nothing but positive reinforcement. She is such a saint and the love of my life.

As I close, I remember the magical moment when I started this business. It was very early one morning as I drove to work in Cincinnati. I had a moment where I truly felt God was calling me to do this and to launch a public speaking business. So, I took the leap and launched this web site and made my public speaking career open to people outside my normal business speaking engagements world.

I think it's obvious that I misread that moment. God was probably guiding me in a direction, but I didn't, and still don't, know what that direction is. However, I will keep praying to Him, so to hopefully someday better understand.

In the mean time, I will continue to spread the positive messages of this world to all who will hear. God is doing, and will continue to do, great things in my life and in all those who believe and will open their hearts to let Him. This I know all too well and it's this love, from God Almighty, that will help guide me to share every loving, caring, positive message I can.

As the song My Way also states; "The end is near." Well in this case, the end is not near, but it is here, at least for this web site.

I leave you with another song; if you have followed me, you know I'm a huge music lover. A classic recorded by sooooo many but made famous by one of my idols, Louis Armstrong. Songwriters: George David Weiss, Robert Thiele gave us this tune which I feel is the greatest of tributes to this world that God created...FOR US ALL THE ENJOY!!! This song conveys the very essence of why I felt a positive messaging business was sooooo very very important.

Thank you all and God Bless each and everyone of you!!!

What a Wonderful World

Louis Armstrong

I see trees of green, red roses too

I see them bloom, for me and for you

And I think to myself

What a wonderful world

I see skies of blue, and clouds of white

The bright blessed days, dark sacred nights

And I think to myself

What a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky

Are also on the faces of people going by

I see friends shaking hands sayin' how do you do

They're really sayin' I love you

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow

They'll learn much more than I'll never know

And I think to myself

What a wonderful world

Yes, I think to myself

What a wonderful world

Oh, yes
